WHAT TO DO IN A BUSY GYM?!

I understand the mix emotions of frustration and self pity when you walk into the gym and the only machine thats not taken is the calf machine.

Fear no more! Heres how you can STILL have a killer workout while in a busy gym..

GET CREATIVE – A successful workout doesn’t mean you have to spend 3 hours in the gym using every machine there is. A successful workout is YOU putting in 100% no matter what the obstacles are. Learn to think on the spot. You can just grab a pair of dumbbells and create a leg workout in one area! Let me show you..

Stiff Leg Deadlift 5×15
Goblet Squats 4×12
Walking DB Lunges 3×20
DB Split Squats 3×10
Weighted Step Ups 3×12
DB Kickbacks 3×12

JUST ASK – We’ve all been there, especially women. We see a sea of testosterone crowding the weights area and suddenly change our heavy leg day to a cardio day. Guilty? Skipping workouts and not giving every muscle group the attention it needs will set you back on your goals. JUST ASK “hey, how many sets have you got left?”. This gives the person a heads up to crack on a little faster and is also a great way to make friends.

PEAK TIMES AND TRAINING DAYS – Monday and Tuesday are going to be your most busiest times. By Wednesday people have most likely ruined their diet and will say they are going to start next week. Try avoiding peak times from 5-7pm. If you have to go when its busy pick your training days accordingly. For example, do cardio at peak times and leg days on Mondays (International Chest Day).

GO TO A CLASS – Try attending a class, like spinning or insanity. That way you are determined a class space as well as a high intensity workout!
